We need to go back to the pre-Thatcher times when local authorities looked after social housing themselves and directly employed trades people to maintain and refurbish properties. Local authorities were completely accountable for the housing stock.
Lack of staff, lack of builders, lack of contractors. Where have all the workers gone ? Oh yes, packed off back to Europe. But don't mention the B word.
