The truly worrying aspect of yet another important NNJ local government piece is that somehow the dire shortage of staff at the authority is being presented as a good thing - spending on agency staff can help balance the budget seems to be the message we are being encouraged to take comfort from. Not this resident ... services are constantly in decline and under pressure and the ruling clique among our elected representatives seem to be involved in a perpetual exercise in spin.

So saving on staff us the backbone to a successful authority?

I'm not thick. I know that money must be handled accordingly and responsibly but cutting corners in services to the public has profound affects.

Tory run authorities and Tory MP's never..NEVER EVER question Downing Street as to whether they are serving the public, the whole raison d'etre of being Parliament or in power, or just blindly following the party mantra or philosophy.
