Head teacher of Kettering nursery in left behind neighbourhood says possible extra funding will make a huge difference and money most be shared more equally
This is the politics of the ghetto and resulting in the victims of austerity politics over the past 10+ years fighting amongst themselves. You do not solve anything by taking money from Carol to pay Pauline.
it is unfair of you to compare these nurseries with what Pen Green is, it is an integrated centre that offers so much more including research, support, training, and development, a centre of excellence . that is not to say that the maintained nurseries are not doing a dam good job and deserves to be properly funded, its just that education is being pulled into a political row to move to privatise all our schools. all are being pushed into something that does not give those voting on the decision all the information they need and that would create injustice.
We gave Ronald Tree Nursery an opportunity to have their say on this matter and as they clearly say they hugely value the work of Pen Green. But the fact is they have no money left in the bank at the end of each year and they're struggling to get by. As you point out it is a political issue and now down to the politicians to sort (if they have the will - fingers crossed).

This should remind those in charge of funding how important Early Years Education is & persuade them to sort out a fair system of funding.
