A long standing admissions policy which sees popular Brooke Weston Academy take students from a neighbouring borough looks to be causing a knock on effect on Corby’s school place allocations
We live 200 meters from Brooke Weston Academy. This year my son didn't get any of his school choices, Brooke Weston being his first choice as we can see the school from our front door so he can walk there, among other personal reasons. Instead we have allocated a school that is 3 miles away and doesn't offer transport, requiring my 11 year son to take 2 buses just to get to school. he isn't the most socially confidant boy and suffers with anxiety. there's no way he will do this. We have had tears every day since offer day!

It's ridiculous that children are being bussed and driven all over the town and county with climate and obesity crises going on! Corby schools should offer their places to Corby district children only and being able to walk there should factor in.

About time - it’s admissions policy is ridiculous. Especially when it also has schools within its group that are in Kettering also.
