Is he still in love with his Tory party masters? And especially his then agent, Suresh Patel, who would appear to have thrown him to the wolves?

He could do worse than to stand as an Independent alongside Cllr Paul Clark who could show him about integrity in office.

Party politics is the undoing of both local and national politicians, striving for one-upmanship.

The voters are unimpressed

No mention of the (far too small!) bus station.

I remember it be trumpeted as another wonderful delivery when it was opened. Try telling that to those who have to queue for their bus on The Drapery! 😠

So good of him to still be thinking of us after his traumatic experience & not rule out serving us. 🤔

I recognise that Mr Mackintosh has been found 'not guilty' of the charges made against him. I imagine however that there will be few people in Northampton (whatever their political affiliation) who would trust him any further than they could throw him. The town is still living with the disastrous decisions mde during his administration and local government has even less money than it did when 10m of dodgy loans were made.

So he may come back into politics, well I hope he realises that he will have to come back quite a long way from Northamptonshire. The voters remember what he presided over back then, so I think the only votes he could get would be from family. I hold him culpable for the fiasco of the £10.5M “loan”, he was the leader of the authority responsible for the loan, so the buck must stop with him.

If the £10.5M were not enough, I would think you could safely add another half of that amount for the cost of the police investigation which went on for years.

This man cannot accept any responsibility for anything and should never be given responsibility again. Has he ever said “sorry” for that debacle? All I’ve heard is he would do it differently, I bet he would. How he manages to walk with no backbone is a mystery to me and most anthropologists in the scientific world. Stay out of politics Mr Macintosh, the hardworking voters of Northamptonshire cannot afford you.
