Ellis embodies the issues with contemporary politicians— unaccountable and inaccessible to constituents. This decision suggests an acknowledgment that his time representing Northampton North has concluded. Throughout his time as an MP, his accomplishments have been minimal, his legacy will be performances in the HoC supporting the Johnson. Northampton deserves more dedicated representation than these self-serving figures

Anybody else remember the Nolan Principles from the Nolan enquiry formed by John Major because he (and the public) was sick and tired of misfeasance in public office?

I also remember the Nolan Principles applied to all in Public Office, but apparently, only if you could choose the ones that suited.

Did he ever really consider his constituents, I don’t recall anything local apart from photo opportunities for calendar events? This goes for Lewer also

I agree that he’s preparing the ground for after the election. Unfortunately, Northamptonians have form for voting for the worst possible political representatives, at all levels, so no point in expecting any improvement I’m afraid.

It still surprises me that “50p Lil” didn’t put herself forward, with her liberal socioeconomic policies she would have won by a landslide.
