A report from the county’s new health commissioner has highlighted a number of issues as its safeguarding focus.
Corby’s urgent care centre, maternity services at Northampton General Hospital, health checks for children in care and the inadequate services within St Andrew’s Hospital were identified within a report from the Integrated Care Board, which was formed in July, replacing the former Northamptonshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
Written by its chief nursing officer Yvonne Higgins the report detailed where those responsible for ensuring quality across the county’s health services are focusing their attention.

The report said an internal meeting by the new ICB identified workforce issues. In response the board says it is encouraging training for staff and was due to hold a review meeting this week.
