More excellent and incisive NNJ reporting. It's a complete disgrace, but, there seems to be no way any elected representatives or public servants take responsibility for anything these days. Your investigation of our MPs the other day was a prime example of this. Keep up the brilliant work. I tell everyone I meet these days to subscribe and support your efforts and I share your work all the time.
When services are starved of funding through 10 years of austerity and local politicians boast of holding council taxes at low levels, there are consequences.
This has been going on for years and clear warnings have been issued. These deaths are a direct consequencies of Tory austerity cuts to services. Time for the whole lot of Tory Councillors to resign. Deaths are on their hands.
In East Northamptonshire we used to have Homestart which is an excellent voluntary organisation. Health visitors/ social workers refer families for support from volunteers. So many of these organisations lost their local funding and Sure Start programmes lost central government funding. We all knew this was exactly where we could have helped had those organisations still existed.
On the West Northamptonshire website there is a section for petitions that never seems to have been used, ever. Could this be used to campaign to get Cllr Baker removed as she is at the centre of this disaster?
I am grateful to read that the NHFT services are also called into question here. Their shocking services fails families and children in Northants and the blame then squarely falls on local authorities/education etc. They are the first people who were involved here but they did nothing to help and support. They rarely do. Just tick boxes. This is another horrific story.
Deeply concerning. How many other cases are there? How many in North Northants? I hope sufficient staff and resources are made available to intervene immediately.

Thanks so much for your support Sid

There should be a public campaign to get these people removed from office.
