I hope Rob receives all the support he deserves and that he WILL be able to change the ethos within North Northants. I find this an exciting time for local politics and just hope that candidates who are worthy of our votes come forward, rather than more of the same.

It is misleading to describe councillors as unelected. County Council elections were held in 2017 for a four year term, which does not end until May 2021. I was re-elected for Corby West with 1,854 votes. Even when elections are postoned, a councillor remains in office as an elected member until an election is called.

All borough or county councillors were elected to their borough or county - not to the unitary - which is a new organisation.

You used the phrase "unelected councillor". There is no such thing as an unelected councillor, unless they are co-opted members of a parish council.

Sounds promising. I hope he does keep a watchful eye on children’s and adult services. So much us being swept under the carpet & (serious case reviews) not being published for bogus reasons.
