Excellent work and extensive research.......some of these people must now be dreading a call from NN Journal and it just about sums or the attitude of the Tory Government and Boris Johnson which is now filtered through to Local Authorities with total disregard for accountability and performance issues that would not be tolerated 20 years ago!

Not only does Michael Ellis not publicise or appear to hold surgeries, he blocked me on Twitter two years ago, when I politely pointed this out.

Excellent piece of research.

Not responding to a hostile, left wing blog like the NN Journal does not mean these MPs don't hold surgeries. Given that both Jo Cox and Sir David Amess were killed at their surgeries, anyone with a brain cell would understand why MPs do appointment based surgeries in undisclosed locations. So no, they're not going to tell you where they hold them unless you're a constituent, because they're not idiots... And the reason you don't get replies is because you're clearly left leaning, hostile individuals. It's not rocket science.

My MP, Andrew Lewer has blocked me on twitter which does not help. The other issues raised by this regarding electronic contacts and phone calls is simply ignoring their constituents, but not at their peril as the recent elections have shown.

To be fair to them regarding the David Amess incident, I do get that they need some kind of protection when attending face to face meetings. I would have thought that the Home Office would have recommended that they had a security presence at their surgeries or some kind of screening so that cannot be reached physically and can summon help from aides or the police if required.

I do understand why the murder of David Amess (and attacks on MPs of other parties before that) has made our local representatives cautious about 'open house' drop-in events.

Sadly these may be a thing of the past. However, I am not convinced that many of these MPs are doing enough to be accessible to us as constituents - especially those of us who are less literate and digitally articulate. It looks like some may be trying to just wash their hands of constituency casework.

All the parties at Westminster need to identify 'best practice' among their respective tribes and encourage their lazier MPs to shape up. I am sure their are more assiduous MPs than our lot (probably in more marginal seats)!

Well done, NNJ ... obviously none of these 'representatives' gives a toss what constituents think about anything or what problems they may have. Why do people vote for them?
