My mother was a lifelong follower of Coronation Street, having grown up in very similar streets herself in Heywood, Lancs. Whenever the continuity announcer would refer to the "cobbled streets of Weatherfield" she would exclaim "They're not cobbles, they're setts!" Cobbles are taken from streams, after being rounded by the action of the water. Setts are hewn from quarries and are square and flat. The total number of cobbles in Coronation Street is zero. Perhaps they know this, but are reluctant to say "the setts of Weatherfield" for fear of being misheard.
