With all the issues ongoing in Kettering, disappearing for such a long period is out of order. If she needed such a long holiday she should not have stood for office.

This is way over the top. We are all entitled to breaks from highly stressful jobs in order to protect our mental health. If she was disappearing or moving out of the area and no longer able to fulfill her duties I would agree. She is taking probably a well earned break and will be back soon - no doubt working her socks off for the people of Kettering.

3 months Paul. Why become Mayor if you know that you are going to go off for such a long time.

Councillors are paid a stipend to do the job. With so many issues affecting their constituents, swanning off to foreign climes whilst still raking in the loot is a terrible look. They should have stepped down or at the very least declined to take taxpayers money during this period.

Oh the irony, these Green fundamentalists telling me not to take airplanes and follow all their net zero and other nonsense, but its fine to head off to South America for weeks, acceptable for me not for thee.

As for not attending council I am sure that is helpful as the others do have to endure the nonsense, hypocrisy and double standards.

I think you are being a bit harsh on her. From personal experience I can fully understand the pressures that mount whilst being an active and committed Councillor. We also sometimes need a break to keep sane. I used to travel to India for a few weeks with friends to escape it all. My Councillors allowance (much much lower in those days) was saved to help fund it.

Don't worry Emy will be back serving the people of Kettering soon and fighting for a better world.
