Maybe you would like to shed a bit of light on a piece of democracy that is taking place in Rushden where a by election is taking place for a seat on the town council.
It is good that these historically uncontested seats are being fought over as this level of local authority becomes more important following the demise of the county council due to it becoming bankrupt and the lean approach being taken by the successor unitaries.
