Thanks Natalie. I've shared this on the St Peter's Weston Favell facebook pages, as Wilson's Orchard was one of the places named by the congregation for our directory of Green Christian "Use your Loaf" ways of eating in ways that are Local, Organic, Animal friendly and Fairly traded. We made a public Climate Emergency Declaration last Sunday (one of only two churches in Northampton to do so) so this is of real interest to us.

Re: Wilsons Orchard Planning application. I do believe there is a historical agreement that when permission was given to Wilsons to build the current developments around the Orchard that the Orchard would never be allowed to be built on. Also there is tremendous bio-diversity in this area - ground nesting birds use the wetlands to breed, in particular Lapwings (currently facing possible extinction). I would object wholeheartedly to any building taking place.
