During my career as a Consultant, I was a contractor for the Audit Commission for some years. This was a "Quango" that was essential for scrutiny of Charities and Local government fund. What a shame that it does not exist anymore. Something like the problem of Blake House would never have arisen. I also believe that the appointment of those trustees should have been better scrutinised and managed.
