Two boys killed by a knife on the same day three years apart
Murdered teenagers Louis-Ryan Menezes and Rayon Pennycook were remembered at a vigil held in Corby yesterday on the first anniversary of Rayon’s death
By Sarah Ward
The vigil held under the imposing gaze of the 27 foot high Knife Angel took place at the same time at which Rayon, 16, was killed on the Hazel Leys estate in Corby on May 25th last year.
In a tragic coincidence it was exactly three years after the death of Louis-Ryan, 17, who was killed in the Kingsthorpe area of Northampton. Both boys died from a single stab to the chest.
Friends and family of both teenagers took part in the vigil and called for an end to knife crime violence in the county.
There were joint prayers, a poem written by Rayon’s mother and songs from the choir from the local Living Faith Church. Father Damian Carr from the Hope Church paid tribute to Rayon, who had been a friend of his sons.
