The takeaway from me for this was how the registered DPO watched the video footage relating to this woman being assaulted as she claims, then days later signed a statement to the court denying such footage existed. Lies to a court to protect misconduct of officers, and then backed up by senior officers with countless court orders ignored or not complied with. There really is little positive spin to put on this when the man at the centre of all this is trying to claim he is steering the ship to rebuild public trust. Would not be so bad were it not for the fact the very author of NN Journal got a visit from the same force earlier this year, threatening her. There is a very clear cultural problem within this force that is not going to be solved by the current status quo, who seem very reluctant to have a light shone on any of it.
So, reading between the lines, the CC has been let down by his staff.
Are they the really bad apples and not the Chief?
And why is the PFCC being held to account at a meeting of the Panel?
Is that Reforms political pins being stuck in a Labour Doll?
Do they want full and total control, like the Tories did?
Night of the long knives?
Perhaps someone in the force ought to be charged with misconduct in public office?
