Town council recommends planning application for Fraser Park is rejected
The recommendation will be sent to the unitary authority

Campaigners were celebrating a small win this week as Northampton Town Council’s planning committee voted to recommend plans for a housing development at Fraser Park be rejected.
The vote does not mean that proposals to build affordable housing on the green space will be dropped as that is ultimately a decision for the unitary authority.
However, it is hoped by those campaigning to save the park that the recommendation will strengthen their argument when the application is looked at by West Northamptonshire Council’s strategic planning committee.
The green space is situated within the Thorplands area of Talavera in Northampton, a ward which has been identified as being ‘left behind’ by a parliamentary group.
A report by the group noted that Talavera has the lowest amount of sports and leisure facilities in the whole country.
