Low social mobility, pockets of deprivation and a higher than national average crime rate are some of the key issues to be tackled in order to level up West Northants, a new council report says.
The report sets out the authority's investment plan which must be submitted to the government in order to draw down an allocated £5.4m from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The fund, which is the government's replacement for EU funding, has three core principles: community and place, supporting local business, and people and skills. There are then 41 interventions which councils should review and identify activities which support the objectives of the fund.
The council's report assesses how West Northamptonshire performs against each of the levelling up missions set out by the government.
