Private Eye thinks NN Journal is ‘excellent’. Do you?
Tell us what you think in our short survey
NN Journal had a lovely compliment recently from political satire magazine Private Eye.
You can read it here.
In light of this national recognition, this Bank Holiday Monday post is a call for your support. If you’ve read NN Journal for years and have never subscribed, would you consider it now? The newsletter’s mission is, and always has been to provide public interest news and make sure those in power are put under scrutiny and held to account. With the diminishing news service in the county I think that since NN Journal began at the start of 2021 it has helped to shine a light on dark corners that were being under reported.
In the past few months our reporting has exclusively revealed information and news that some would rather have kept hidden - such as the new fire chief being under investigation by the IOPC and the chief constable being criminally investigated by his previous police force - and it has helped to topple the police, fire and crime commissioner and now the abusive leader of West Northamptonshire Council.
NN Journal does need more subscribers. More subscribers will mean I can expand our coverage. There are already regular features from the wonderful writer Julia Thorley and it would be great to be able to commission more pieces from other writers.
So if you could sign up for the cost of £6 per month, I’d be grateful. There is an offer here for a 10 per cent discount if you take out an annual subscription.
If you don’t decide to subscribe, or even if you do, I’d also appreciate it if you could share and plug NN Journal in your WhatsApp Groups. NN Journal has never advertised, instead relying on word of mouth to gain subscribers. I use social media very little to share our stories, as I don’t want to become a slave to the ever changing algorithms and have to change the content due to what is currently most popular online.
I’d also like to hear your views on NN Journal. What do you think of the news I send you? Are there areas I am overlooking? Would you like to see more reporting of certain issues? Is the area where you live covered well enough?
If you could take a couple of minutes to fill in this survey I’d be grateful.
Thanks for reading and have a great bank holiday.
