A coalition of organisations gathered in Northampton on Saturday as part of a global day of action on climate change.

Local members of Extinction Rebellion, Greenpeace, the Green Party and other environmental groups marched alongside representatives of Unison, Labour, the Quakers and others to call for climate action.

Similar events took place across the globe to coincide with COP26 which is currently being held in Glasgow. Tens of thousands of people took part in a demonstration in the Scottish city to call on world leaders to take urgent action.

The Northampton protest of around 80 people started at the Racecourse and made its way into the town centre stopping outside several businesses to highlight their environmental record.
