More improvements needed to protect Northamptonshire's vulnerable children

Two reports published this week into how Northamptonshire’s vulnerable children are protected both say more improvements are needed.
Ofsted released a report following an inspection carried out last month into how the county’s children’s services are performing and the police inspectorate also published a report following a critical inspection in 2018 which raised serious concerns about how the force protects children.
Northamptonshire’s children’s services are rated as inadequate and were on government orders moved over into an independent trust last November. The inspection said steady improvements were being made but the quality of service is still inconsistent.
