North Northamptonshire’s fourth director of children’s services in four years, says her department needs to get its house in order and declares a funding crisis
Schools are not fit for purpose. Since they all become much stricter and draconian policies like kids cant go to the toilet or they aren't allowed to drink water in lessons... young kids can't handle this level of coercive control and it isn't healthy at all, it effects their mental health, their central nervous system and their whole attitude towards learning ..... The downside was Schools becoming academies where they switched focus on forcing kids to learn pointless things and not nurturing them and focussing on wellbeing like they used to in the 90.s/00's or like they do in alternative/holistic schools. Then fines came in for families taking holidays and added fuel to the fire with the resentment towards schools. Gov needs to address the huge problems within state schools/address rigid/old fashioned curriculum.
What no one asks is why there are so many kids with SENs ?
I leave you to answer that after a look back at how our Society has changed.
Thirty years ago it was very unusual for a child to need to go to a Special school, and often it would come back into class having learnt a bunch of disruptive habits from its peers.
I know it's not always the parents' fault but perhaps it is time to send some Parents to a Special Needs Establishment to help with stopping this rot.
What a shambles, maybe the Cabinet is not doing its job of scrutiny and next election they can be turfed out.
Poor poor children and families in this county failed for another decade.
NCT just smoke and mirrors nothing has improved just costs more to farm out the management.
Being in the Government? We’ve only just recovered from the cost of commissioners being imposed by Sajid Javid in 2017 - crew chief executives should resign immediately but no doubt will be polishing up
Maybe the council should address the high turnover at the top. Three leaders in three years can only lead to chaos and stagnation.

Wow! A really sad story! Thank you so much for telling us this! Please, please let there be a change!
