Happy New Year!
I wanted to say thank you for your support throughout 2023 and I hope you will continue to champion our brand of local journalism into 2024. I really could not continue to do this job I love without your financial support.
It promises to be a big year for politics both locally and nationally, with the Wellingborough byelection likely in February.
In May our controversial police, fire and crime commissioner will also be trying to win a third term in office and it is quite probable this will coincide with the General Election.
A significant focus for the investigations I undertake this year will be health. From GP access, to dentistry, our hospitals, waiting list times, mental health services and the new local area partnerships, I will hope to report the true state of how our NHS is faring.
On this note, this Thursday’s story is likely to be about the financial health of our local NHS.
