Good lord the failings within our public services keep getting worse and worse.

With WNC losing money hand over fist and services not being invested in just where is the money going?

A full audit of their accounts down to every single transaction needs to be carried out to see how they are so incapable of balancing the books and provide a basic service they can maintain

Moving housing into an ALMO was just a device for the beancounters to get some liabilities off the balance sheet and for the management to make a quick windfall by playing shops.

It was never going to improve the housing standards for tenants.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig!

This is one of the many ‘side effects’ of not employing the relevant chartered professionals to design housing. Expecting a developer to design housing is daft enough (they don’t usually have any relevant qualifications) and if they appoint them those designers are required by their appointment to design the housing the developer needs, NOT the housing the council needs!

The whole responsibilities rest entirely with the Chief Executive Earnshaw. What part did Catherine Whitehead played in all this fiasco after all she was the head of the Legal department. Conservative and Labour Councillors are responsible also for what has happened over the last two decades. The comments made by Cllr Purser over negative feedback on the Market square just demonstrates how out of touch most Councillors are. Look at decisions made recently by elected official? Commissioner Stone waved trough the employment of a Chief Fire Officer with no experience whatsoever in that field. Now you are asking about Commercial acumen? Taking responsibilities for their actions is never been in their agenda. Lips service that is all we are getting.

Can we expect resignations in view of this scandal?

I note the new MP for Crawley is backing the idea that the public housing stock be nationalised. OUr MPs should be encouraged to join him.
