In reality if the dustbin lorry didn't have a different logo would we have noticed any difference.

The creation of the unitary councils was driven by political dogma rather than by a business case and we're all going to be paying the huge cost of that for many years to come

A very good summary of how we got to where we are. It was also interesting to revisit Kate Ironside’s piece from 2021. “…good leadership, as we have seen with Nick Adderley at Northamptonshire Police “ shows how we’ve all accepted crooks, wrong ‘uns & grifters into positions of power, both in government and in the local authorities.

What a fantastic reporting local democratic service that NNJOURNAL continue to provide. At the last local elections what did we really get? Just another bunch of Tories extremist in Reform overcoat. Meaning... we are going to have more of the same i.e nothing works. No amount of central government funding can solved some of the daft ideas that Cllr Arnull claims were a success, when in fact they lost money. What we really need is for voters to think carefully before they cast their vote.

Another piece showing how valuable NNJ is to the wider community of Northamptonshire. Yet again I urge anyone reading this to subscribe and tell their friends and neighbours about the excellent service avail here.

Fantastic piece of journalism again!. Incredible how fast people come and go in public positions. Wonder where Paul Blantern, Jim Harker, David Mackintosh, Nick Pettit etc are now. Let alone the former LGPS ‘leaders’. The cost to our county has been huge both to tax payers and services

I have heard that the long-term proposition is that the two unitaries merge into one big right-wing monstrosity.
