Is another local government service charge going to hit North Northants residents this year?
In the midst of a proposed council tax rise, cost of living increases and inflation at a 30 year high, residents could find themselves having to pay green waste charges
All residents in North Northamptonshire Council could find themselves having to pay for green waste collections later this year if the unitary authority decides to bring in a new charge.
The authority is due to go out to consultation in coming weeks about how green waste is handled across its towns and villages.
Currently only those living in the area formerly governed by East Northamptonshire District Council pay a charge to have their waste collected - which is currently £55 per household per year.
