I would like to offer best wishes to Ivan in taking over the role.

There is clearly a lot of unfinished business from the failed regime run by the Conservatives and Adderley as illustrated by the responses to this report and stories published previously.

I would encourage all our new MPs to get behind him and show support so he can be clear he is being backed and any concerns he has can be relayed to Ministers for attention.

Does his priority for children include protecting Black kids from disproportionate use of tasers and stop and search? What is he going to do to address this long-standing inequalities and injustices?

I would like to make another comment for anyone to consider is this: Ivan Balhatchet has been the Interim Chief constable since October 2023. What impact if any has he had so far as reference by another comment about Simon Tilley? The arrest happened on his watch? How does he explain that? He makes a lot of promises but so far nothing has happened, and Simon Tilley is still in custody for writing facts based comments.

383478 public trust in the police needs to be restored if people are to co operate in helping to keep law and order. Maybe the local Neighbourhood Watch Schemes could be repurposed to give local assistance to police officers.

This resource has been neglected in recent years and fallen into disrepair.

Time to reconsider its value ??

Maybe he (& you guys) would like to start by taking a long hard look at the arrest & detention (for alleged ‘stalking with intent to cause serious distress’) of Simon Tilley whose whistleblower revelations led to the sacking of a previous chief constable.

I concur with your comments Andy. Unless the situation of Simon Tilley is taken seriously I doubt the public will change their opinion. Enough of "lips service". What the public want to see is actions to demonstrate that Domestic violence will not be tolerate. After all is it not the Labour party policy. Simon Tilley highlighted this in the violence Cllr Nunn had with Maria Botterill and other women.
