Hospital rebuild, large housing developments and GP performance all scheduled for scrutiny inspection in North of the county
Councillors will be able to look in detail at a number of delayed projects

The long talked about redevelopment of Kettering General Hospital will be one of the issues due for examination by North Northamptonshire Council’s scrutiny function.
Since the government announcement back in 2020 that the Victorian hospital would be one of 40 built before the end of the decade, there has been little concrete detail on when the government money will be received by the hospital trust and when the work will start.
At the hospital trust board’s most recent meeting last month, the rebuild project was not on the agenda, with the last time it was discussed back in the summer when the board of directors welcomed news that it remained in the list of 40 hospitals but noted the National Audit Office’s assessment that the 2030 end date was at risk of delay.
