Hospital corrects record on election leaflet misinformation

Kettering General Hospital has ‘categorically’ ruled out the suggestion that its new build could be located on a greenfield site near Isham.
Pre-election pamphlets delivered by the Conservative Party across some parts of Wellingborough this month have said the hospital could relocate to a site near Isham, which is in the existing Wellingborough local authority boundary.
However the hospital’s board decided in November it would be moving forward with a £765m plan to rebuild a new facility on the existing site on Rothwell Road as part of a phased construction. So far just under £400m has been committed to allow for hospital improvements and the hospital trust’s chief executive Simon Weldon says much government money is needed to make the century old hospital fit for today.
