Heated debate over closure of Daventry council building
A row broke out over the plans at last night's cabinet meeting

The leader of the West Northants Labour group has hit out at plans to sell off the former Daventry District Council office building.
Following the move to unitary councils, staff which were kept on by West Northants Council continued to work from the Daventry office but under cost-cutting measures that will now come to an end.
Under the council’s plans a new hub would be created in the nearby Abbey Centre but it is not clear if all staff would have desk space at the new site.
The proposals are part of a review the council is undertaking into its office space as current occupancy levels are low across its buildings.
