Corby still fly-tipping capital of North Northamptonshire, plus a new litter strategy for West Northants and one Northants MP's plan to boycott party conference if vaccine passport required
Corby is the rubbish dump spot of North Northamptonshire and has more than double the amount of fly tip incidents than its neighbouring areas.
For every quarter of last year Corby was the frontrunner in the number of fly tipping incidents in the area.
In the period of June to September there were 800 fly tipping incidents in the borough compared to about 350 in the next worst town of Kettering.
In total there were 5501 reported fly tips in the last financial years (April 2020-21)
The problem is long running and as far back as 2017-18 Corby was seeing more fly tipping blighting its streets, alleyways and rural spaces than any of its neighbours.
The matter was discussed this week at the executive advisory panel for climate change for North Northamptonshire as a new strategy is being put together to attempt to tackle the issue.
