I grew up in South London shortly after the war surrounded by pre-fabs. This was a temporary solution until a massive house building programme kicked in. Modular solutions popular in mainland Europe may be part of the answer if they are high quality, sustainable eco-units but is this what WNC has in mind?
I concur with Andrew Dutton comments. There was a well designed prefabricated house built to solve the housing crisis after WW2 called the " prefab". They lasted well until the 1970th. However, It is very doubtful that Cllr Adam Brown or any of his cronies would have the "know how" or the "ability" to pick anything as good than the prefabs, in my opinion.
Public money! Scandalous and arrogant that twice this week they feel they have a right to hide the details.
While Northamptonians talk openly about the 'backhander' notion behind the tragedy of the new Market Square, 2 years on and 13.4 million spent? and Fish Street, I believe 5 million; we are shamed at the atrocity of how the town looks.
Meanwhile, at best bad management, at worst corruption, the people of Northampton suffer.
The SEND, homeless and elderly are the reason we need to keep pushing for the truth.

Good to see some pro activity in solving the housing shortage.
