Well done Sarah, you were there from start to finish. Superb journalism in depth, which is now very rare indeed. You should feel proud, I’m sure all of us on here are extremely proud of you.👏 I
Not kind Sarah, just true. I’ve been with you and NN Journal for a few years now. How you've managed to keep carrying on with having to fundraise, as well as your previous health issue, is amazing. You are a star and I thank you for all of your hard work. Have a lovely weekend.
The former Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner should be held to account for the recruitment process of Adderley. When you review other senior appointments his judgment appears to be very poor.
It now falls to Danielle Stone the new Police Fire and Crime Commissioner to ensure the force in Northamptonshire is swept clean of the consequences of this and pursue the new Minister of Justice to make sure that the vetting of Police Officers from top to bottom is scrupulous and fair and delivering the kind of service we all deserve.
What a sad state of affairs and there have some super heroes that have caught tirelessly to the only sensible conclusion. People like Sarah, Simon and Adderleys former wife as well as others. However there is an area of accountability on the office of the PFCC, and perhaps even Mold himself, in that checks were not made into Adderleys past at his recruitment, and the most basic safeguarding advice for safer recruitment in public office have been totally ignored. Perhaps the new PFCC should look into this as part of restoring faith in the community. No wonder it's so easy for criminals and abusers to get into the police if these safeguarding principles are not put into practice.
The recruitment process for any senior officers was followed in Adderley case. The whole process took five days. A number of different teams assess Adderley I.e Competence team, Technical team.just to name a few. One of those individuals was ....wait a minute Nicci Marzec. In my opinion all of them knew the truth about Adderley. However, Mold was adamant that it was his "preferred candidate" and he stated this several times during the Confirmation Hearings that I attended. Also he claimed the recruitment process/vetting was "rigorous" and detailed.
So, who checks the credentials of applicants in the Northants police force? They should be as stringent for the top post as for the most junior officer. Someone in HR is not doing their job properly!

He is making this out to be some minor matter in a long and successful career. It should be regarded as extraordinary not commonplace. I guess he’ll still enjoy his pension.
As to “safer recruitment process” which surely his position would have warranted, I am stunned this one was so lax. When recruiting staff for schools, I needed to see originals of their qualifications. Why didn’t that happen here?

That's kind Chris. Thanks

Why was his CV not checked before he was given the job?
Is the crime commissioner at the time of Adderley’s appointment not partly to blame for this sorry tale of incompetence in choosing him (Adderley) .
These are just my personal thoughts as a retired employer i always checked the CV of anyone applying for a position in my company.
The right outcome was reached.

Unlikely to happen.

Agree and we will be following up the vetting, as this did not form part of the hearing.

Yes you are correct! Ultimately Mold Commissioner and a numbers of councillors should be held to accounts on this matter.
How much public money has he wasted defending the indefensible?

Some questions regarding the splitting up the £945m debt inherited from Northamptonshire County Council:
1. How can it take three years to make this decision?
2. How on earth did NCC manage to rack up almost a billion pounds in debt?
3. Which current councillors in NNC and WNC were part of that profligacy, and what possessed us to re-elect them?

Thank you kind sir, one of a team where every little fibre all contributes to the overall strength of the rope.
