Former Northampton South MP David Mackintosh passed on information about donation rules to a director of the town’s football club, the ongoing trial heard this week.
Mackintosh, who was leader of Northampton Borough Council at the time he was running to become an MP in 2014, passed on details of election donations rules to Northampton Town Football Club Chairman David Cardoza and was also involved in forwarding a compliance letter from one of the £10,000 donors to his election campaign.
