Green issues were the hot topic at NN Journal’s first election hustings last night. Several questions on the environment came in from our readers ahead of the event and more were asked during the evening from the live audience.
In response to a question about reducing our reliance on cars and encouraging more sustainable active travel, candidates were in agreement over the need for better cycling infrastructure and more reliable, cheaper bus services, particularly in rural areas. However, there was some disagreement on the suggestion of a blanket 20mph speed limit on urban and village roads.
