Nicci Marzec (pictured) would work from commissioner Mold’s private business

Northamptonshire’s shortest serving chief fire officer Nicci Marzec used to regularly work from the unrelated business premises of under pressure crime commissioner Stephen Mold.

Yesterday Marzec, who was controversially appointed earlier this month as Northants chief fire officer, only to stand down ten days later, resigned working as head of crime commissioner Stephen Mold’s office, quitting the £104,000 role she worked at for several years.

No reason has been given for her resignation, which comes amid rumours the pair have been in a relationship - a claim they first denied to NN Journal on July 10 and continue to deny.

However the commissioner has admitted they go to the gym together and he has slept over at her home.

Marzec has lost her job over her friendship with boss Stephen Mold

NN Journal has obtained images of Nicci Marzec going into Stephen Mold’s unrelated business premises on the Brackmills estate in Northampton on July Friday, July 14 at around 11am. At this time she was a few days into the role as chief fire officer.

A source from within his office also said that Marzec would regularly work from the premises, which is used by Mold for his business Uber Shop which sells children’s toys.
