Delay for Northamptonshire’s garden village
The planning application for Tresham Garden Village had been expected this month

Plans to build a large new eco village close to Corby have been set back.
It was expected that a planning application for the long muted Tresham Garden Village would be submitted to North Northamptonshire Council any time now, but the developers have confirmed the plan is not ready.
The housing development - which will be set on former airfield land that belongs to Deene Estate owners the Brudenells- is expected to deliver 1,500 houses and should form a key plank of the area’s house building over the next decade.
It has been promoted on its green credentials and its approved masterplan talks about an edible landscape with fruit grown in the streets, renewable energy sources and an electric car sharing scheme. It also has plans for community allotments, an orchard and a community press. And the scheme vowed to create one job per home, with space set aside for a country house hotel and stables.
