Solicitors acting on behalf of Cilldara, the company hoping to purchase land from West Northants Council at Sixfields, have written to the authority to notify them of intended legal action.

Earlier this month, the council’s cabinet voted to accept an offer from CDNL (a subsidiary of Northampton Town Football Club) for land next to Sixfields Stadium over a higher bid from Cilldara.

A condition of the CDNL offer is that it will finally complete the stadium’s East Stand which is one of the reasons some councillors and many NTFC fans have spoken out in support of the club’s bid in the past.
