Of course Arnull couldn’t just quietly leave if he didn’t like what he heard.

Would someone who supports him like to explain to me why these comments (presumably made at an evening for adults where the beers were flowing) are so offensive he ALSO needed to jeopardise someone’s career & make veiled threats against Derngate & Auntie.

It couldn’t possibly be political posturing could it? 🤔

Actually there were children present and the beers were not flowing. I don't support Arnull. I think I do support freedom of speech, which was also a theme of Bernie's act.

I hope that Cllr Arnull's comment "West Northamptonshire Council provides significant financial support to Royal & Derngate" doesn't indicate that he's looking for an excuse to defund the venue.

Yes, something to watch.

The interesting line is his comment about the public calling to defund the BBC of course…

I enjoyed Bernie Keith's monologue but it was too long and too self-centred when he talked about his impending visit to Italy. He explained at the very start that his script had not been vetted. Councillor Arnull should have stayed for the awards IMHO.

I don't remember which year it was but at a past awards ceremony they had their sports presenter Graham McKechnie host the ceremony with Annabel Amos instead of Bernie Keith as some people very high up in the BBC were attending and Bernie Keith couldn't be trusted to behave and not say anything inappropriate so he does have form for this.
