Rebecca Purnell, board member of Northamptonshire Partnership Homes is leaving her assistant chief executive job and the council says the departure is her decision.
Think letting her resign is a total cop out. Presumably she will keep her pension intact and go to other jobs without the stain of being fired for sheer incompetence regarding NPH. With homes effectively costing £1m each who was allowing that to happen?
What is the background and experience of Rebecca Purnell that made her value as an employee worth an annual salary of £110,000 plus a pension top-up of £20,000? What are her qualifications? What knowledge and know-how did she bring to WNC and to the boardroom of the failed NPH? However, to be balanced she wasn't the only politician on the NPH board. According to the revealing NNJ article this lady has not put her name to one report in 5 years of high paid employment. Let us hope that this is the beginning of the clear-out at WNC and not the end.
Yes, that is correct, she was a council employee. I should have said there were also politicians on the NPH board who were also very much part of the failure.
I hope the new council will hold officers to account better than the previous one.
Also, if they truly want to reduce costs let them vote against the increase in allowances. That will surely set the right example.

Our MPs should be all over this.

She wasn't a politician, she was a council officer.

Fantastic reporting!
Reform is not my politics BUT look what they are uncovering, 24 million on 25 dwellings.
£110,000 for the deputy but the chief sits pretty. Come on!
Again and again, the same names, money missing, mis-spent! Corruption, scandals and I fear we have only just begun.
Bravo Reform, well done let’s find out the truth.
Big questions ....What did Anna Earnshaw know about her deputys incompetence? How come she didnt sack her?
How come the deputy stayed as long as this?
If not her fault, why did the deputy not whistle-blower?
The officers who have been pushing to build and operate a crematorium should be next to be held to account.
