Budget overspend predicted at North unitary
There’s a new Reform UK shaped political management at North Northamptonshire Council, but the same old financial challenges remain

North Northamptonshire Council is looking at overspending its budget by almost £9.5m with the old issue of children’s services costs remaining.
Despite new political management in the shape of Reform UK, the authority has released its financial update and is predicting an overspend on its £405.5m budget.
The issues look to be the same as in the previous Tory-run years, with departments that look after adult social care, children’s services and roads all predicting to spend more than has been set aside.
